Newfoundland and Labrador has conducted its latest provincial immigration draw
, inviting 57 candidates to apply for immigration through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
The draw was held on July 10, 2026, making it the province’s eighth immigration selection round of the year. It was also the smallest draw conducted in 2026, reflecting Newfoundland and Labrador’s continued targeted approach to selecting skilled workers who can meet the province’s labour market needs.
Latest Draw Results
A total of 57 invitations were issued in the July 10 selection round:

This was the first draw since September 2025 in which the Atlantic Immigration Program received more invitations than the NLPNP, with AIP candidates accounting for approximately 70.2% of all invitations issued.
Provincial Invitations in 2026
As of July 10, 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador has invited a total of 1,544 candidates to apply for either:
- A provincial nomination through the NLPNP,
- A provincial endorsement under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
Although the latest draw favoured AIP candidates, the majority of invitations issued throughout 2026 have still gone to NLPNP applicants.
How Are Candidates Selected?
For most immigration streams, applicants must have:
- A valid job offer from an eligible Newfoundland and Labrador employer.
- Relevant education and work experience.
- Language proficiency that meets program requirements.
- A genuine intention to live and work in the province.
The Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) may prioritize candidates based on factors such as:
- Employment in healthcare occupations.
- Employment outside major urban centres.
- Strong long-term settlement potential.
- Connections to the province, including education completed in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Other provincial labour market priorities.
What Happens After Receiving an Invitation?
Candidates invited under the NLPNP have 60 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination. For the Atlantic Immigration Program, the application for provincial endorsement is submitted by the designated employer on behalf of the candidate.
If approved, applicants receive either:
- A Provincial Nomination Certificate (NLPNP), or
- A Certificate of Endorsement (AIP).
They can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Canadian permanent residence, where they must complete medical, criminality, and security assessments before a final decision is made.
Alternative Immigration Pathways
Individuals who are not selected under the NLPNP or AIP may still qualify for other Canadian immigration programs, including:
- Express Entry
- Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
- Rural and Community Immigration pathways
- Employer-specific Work Permits
- Family Sponsorship
- Other federal and provincial immigration programs
